Micah has 12+ years of engineering design and project management experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tulane University and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating valedictorian and top of class. While a graduate student, he worked for two years providing engineering and logistical support to installation artists, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, for The Gates project in New York City. Micah has worked for two structural engineering firms in Washington State and worked for five years as an international project leader and the director of the Latin American Office of Engineering Ministries International (EMI). With EMI, he established the organization’s nonprofit status in Costa Rica, served on post-earthquake disaster response teams in Haiti and Peru, and led teams of engineers and architects to design orphanages, schools, clinics and other infrastructure projects using appropriate technology throughout Latin America. Micah is proficient in Spanish and has basic knowledge in Italian and Haitian Creole.
Beyond his work experience, Micah is passionate about community, cultures, and languages, with a special interest in supporting and learning from those with little resources in developing countries and his own community. He and his wife reside in Wenatchee, Washington, and are the proud parents of two boys.
